1. Acceptance of Terms By downloading, installing, or using icarU, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. icarU is a platform for trusted circles to manage social reciprocity; if you do not agree to these terms, do not use our service.

2. Description of Service icarU is a community-based communication tool designed to facilitate non-commercial carpool cost-sharing and social favor exchanges among trusted circles (friends, family, and coworkers). icarU is not a transportation provider, a taxi service, or a professional service marketplace.

3. Non-Commercial Use and Profit Prohibition Users agree to use icarU strictly for personal, social purposes.

  • For Drivers: You agree that any reimbursement received is for vehicle operating costs only (fuel, maintenance, and depreciation) based on the IRS Business Mileage Rate. You must not use icarU to generate a profit.

  • For Insurance: Drivers are responsible for ensuring their personal auto insurance policies allow for carpooling and the transport of passengers for expense-sharing purposes.

4. User Eligibility To use icarU, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Have a valid driver's license and valid insurance (if providing rides).

  • Coordinate only within "Circles" of people you know and trust.

5. Carma and External Settlements

  • Carma Points: Carma is a social tracking token used to measure reciprocity and fairness within a circle. Carma has no cash value, is not a currency, and cannot be redeemed for money.

  • Settlements: icarU does not process, hold, or facilitate financial payments. Any "settling up" for vehicle expenses or favors (e.g., cash, gas money, or buying a coffee) occurs directly between users outside the platform.

6. Favors and Community Help icarU allows users to request and grant personal favors (e.g., dog sitting, home care). icarU acts only as a communication tool. Users are solely responsible for the safety and security of their property and pets. icarU does not vet or background check users.

7. Limitation of Liability icarU provides a coordination platform "as is." We are not liable for:

  • Accidents, injuries, or property damage during rides or favors.

  • Disputes or disagreements between circle members.

  • Financial transactions occurring outside the app.

  • Direct, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.

8. Assumption of Risk By using icarU, you acknowledge that you are interacting with people within your private social circles. You assume all risk for your safety and the safety of your property.

9. Prohibited Activities You agree NOT to:

  • Use the service for commercial profit or as a professional business.

  • Harass, abuse, or impersonate other users.

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose.

10. Termination We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms—specifically if the platform is used for commercial profit or unauthorized professional services.

11. Governing Law These terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate local courts.
